Our Full Course Package

This course is offered to all students from 16 years of age and older.

GOAL: The goal of driver educations is to instill a more responsible and safe attitude in the student driver. The responsibilities include being courteous and predictable and this is an absolutely necessity for the safe operation of a motor vehicle.

IN-CLASS LESSONS: Twenty (20) hours of in-class instructional lessons is given on the principles for safe driving, rules of the road, driving in adverse conditions, alcohol and drugs and their effect on driving ability, legal aspects of insurance, problem attitudes and behaviours such as aggressive driving and speeding and much more. Lessons include video instructions and presentations as well as a test after each session, in addition to a final test of two (2) hours to ensure students walk away with the necessary knowledge and are able to put their knowledge to use in practical situations.

INDEPENDENT STUDY: Students are to complete twelve (12) hours of independent study which consist of twelve (12) assignments on topics of the curriculum during their own time. The completion of the assignments will be based on independent research and notes taking during in-class lessons.

IN-VEHICLE LESSONS: Lessons for the full course package will be given using an automatic transmission vehicle. The package includes a total of ten (10) hours of in-vehicle lessons given by provincial government qualified driving instructors.

REQUIREMENT: Students should have a valid driver license of class G1, G2 or G in order to commence to the in-car portion of the program.

INSURANCE SAVINGS: BDE graduates with a  Driver’s Licence History (DLH) maybe eligible for an insurance discount.
